The threat by the People
Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the Senate to President Muhammadu Buhari
to make governance difficult for him should Senate President Bukola Saraki be
removed from office following his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal
has drawn the ire of the Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG).
In a statement signed by
its national coordinator, Muhammad Labbo and the secretary, Cassidy Madueke,
yesterday in Abuja, the group said the threat by the Senators was borne out of
lack of patriotism.
“It is totally unpatriotic
for some senators to seek to compound the nation’s problems, at a period when
the President and his team are working round the clock to fix the country from
the rot the PDP administration left it,” the statement said.
The group said its reaction
was borne out of the press statement by Senator Clifford Ordia, representing
Edo Central, in which he stated that they will make governance difficult should
Senator Saraki be removed. The group said it is preposterous for anyone to
blame Saraki’s ordeal on the President.
