A robbery suspect, 31-year-old
Abdullahi Hassan, has admitted robbing his elder brother, Chitta Sarudou, a
bureau de change operator based in Lagos. But he said the act does not qualify
him to be called an armed robber because he used a machete in order not to
attract sympathizers.
Hassan was said to have attacked
his brother who was going for the jumat on Friday last week, thinking that he
was with the money he had wanted to collect from him. He was said to have gone
straight to the victim and inflicted several cuts on him but his screaming
attracted the attention of passers-by.
