Famous actor, Ibrahim Chatta, more known for his mesmeric outings in Yoruba movies, is planning something big to hit the screen soon. In the past years, he had featured in top movies like Edan, Ise, Abuja and Kirakita among a list of others. As you read this, the movie star is getting set to shoot the biggest movie in his career, and he’s employing all his arsenals to make it a success.
Just last week, he invited many bigwigs in the industry who will be featuring in the movie to Ibadan. The event marked the first stage of the production of what he described as the “movie to beat” At script reading were stars like Jide Kosoko, Yemi Solade, Wole Ojo, Kehinde Bankole, Sunkanmi Omobolanle, Shaffy Bello-Akinrimisi, amongst many others.
The reading started off with a surprise birthday party for Jide Kosoko whose birthday fell on the same day. Chatta, along with the other actors, presented him with a huge cake and a small party eschewed. Kosoko thanked Chatta and his colleagues for the gesture and prayed long life for them.
Speaking about the movie, which has the working title, Voiceless, Chatta said, “I have been working on the movie for over five years now. My writers and I have been fine tuning it to make sure it is tight. Now, I am satisfied with what we have and we are ready to shoot.
I don’t want to talk much about the movie now because part of the marketing strategy is to build suspense amongst the viewers. The movie has to do with a young girl being molested and the extent with which a mother can go to evade justice.” The movie is in its production stage and will be ready for the cinemas by the third quarter of the year.
“It is a big project and we are not in a rush to finish it. But it will surely get to the viewers this year”, said Chata. He also asked supporters and corporate bodies to take advan- tage of the movie for visibility.
