Mayor To Challenge Biya For National Presidential Ticket

President Paul Biya

CPDM militant and also 3rd deputy mayor of the Yaounde VI, Bidoung Saint Eloi is a candidate for President of the CPDM and intends to organize a march “against the enemies,” of the development of Cameroon.

In a letter published in the daily newspaper ‘Mutations’ on Friday, March 11, 2016, Saint Eloi Bidoung said he is neither embittered nor disillusioned. He was recently quoted by a newspaper as one of “the men who stood to Paul Biya.’’

According to him, a head of state has in his hands formal and informal levers that can allow him to destroy any harmful adversary. But yet, he still has the courage to stand for the head of the CPDM. “By standing as a candidate for presidency of the party in power, I simply performed a political act in conformity with the statutes of the CPDM, just to break the conspiracy of silence,” he said in the newspaper. He wishes to apply the rule that “what is not forbidden is allowed.”

According to the 3rd Deputy Mayor of Yaounde VI, Cameroon must reemerge in 2035. And Cameroon may well reach that point without Paul Biya. Saint-Eloi Bidoung is deeply offended that we equate him to opponents like John Fru Ndi, Alice Sadio, Ndam Njoya, among others.

Many people consider this bold move as a suicide mission embarked upon by the Mayor. Will he go the whole hub? Only time will tell.
