Paul Biya Announces Official Visit To Qatar

Cameroon President, Paul Biya
The head of state of the Republic of Cameroon Paul Biya will on March 27 to 28, make an official visit to Qatar. This information was reported on Monday by the national press.

According to newspaper sources, the visit of the Cameroonian President to this oil-rich state in the Gulf should enable him to mobilize funds to finance development projects in the country.

Although the Presidency of the Republic has not yet reported the visit of Paul Biya to Qatar, the succession in which officials and Qatari investors have been seen in Cameroon in recent times, would be a clue to such an event.

Qatar is interested in highway projects including the one between Douala and Yaoundé and also the construction of other roads across the country, the realization of energy projects without forgetting the construction of social housing too.

Qatar whose influential investors are well established worldwide, wishes to invest in the sectors of housing, tourism and infrastructure. The leisure industry with the establishment of a tourism resort development project on the banks of Atlantic Ocean (Coastal region) is also an interest to the Qatari.
