Africa will soon have its
African passport. The announcement was made by the President of the African
Union, Dlamini Zuma on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016. Europe has its
Schengen passport.
The document will ensure the holder’s
entry and stay in another African country without a visa for a period of 30
days. This is a breakthrough in cooperation between African countries.
The first beneficiaries will be
the heads of state and governments. They will have the first copies in July
2016, during their summit in Kigali, Rwanda. For now, there is no information
on the circulation of the document for the ordinary citizens of Africa.
